Ceisteanna——Questions. Oral Answers. - RTE Radio Signal.

103. Mr. Breslin asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if it is intended to boost the strength of the RTE radio signal for the benefit of [1333] Irish people living in Britain who complain that at present they find it difficult to receive.

Dr. Cruise-O'Brien: A new high-powered transmitter to replace the Athlone transmitter is expected to be in service by mid-1975. In addition to providing imported reception here, it is expected that the new transmitter should also result in a significant improvement in reception of RTE radio programmes in Britain.
