88. Mr. Tully asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received any proposals from county councils in connection with the revision of wages of engineers' office assistants; and, if so, if he will state the nature of the proposals, the sponsoring local authority, and his decision thereon.

Minister for Local Government (Mr. Molloy): A proposal to increase the wages of the employees mentioned has recently been received from Carlow, Monaghan and Waterford County Councils. The proposal is to apply the following weekly wage scale:—

£13 10s by increments of 16s to £17 10s with effect from 1st July, 1969 and £14 10s by increments of 16s to £18 10s with effect from 1st October, 1969.
