45. Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Education if, in view of the importance to students of the availability of early results of the leaving and intermediate certificate examinations, he will take steps to have the publication of results accelerated this year.

Mr. Colley: I have had this matter fully examined during the year, and I am pleased to say that the results of the certificate examinations will be ready at least a week earlier than last year. Everything possible is being done to accelerate the issue of results without losing sight of my first concern, which is, as far as is possible, to ensure uniform and proper marking in all examinations which are my responsibility.
