Mr. Sweetman asked the Minister for Finance if his Department has yet completed the examination of the survey that was completed of the Rye River and when he anticipates that work on the river will commence.

Mr. Beegan: The examination of the survey of the Rye River has just been completed and the Commissioners of Public Works are reporting on the matter to the Department of Agriculture. I am unable at this stage to say anything about the commencement of works.
