Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Loughshinney Telephone Need.

Mr. Rooney asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that a telephone is urgently needed in the fishing village of Loughshinney, and whether he will take immediate steps to have a kiosk provided there.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Everett): It is not proposed to provide a telephone kiosk at Loughshinney.

By arrangement with the Dublin County Council, however, which will make good any loss on the annual cost, a telephone call office is being provided in the premises of Mrs. Ferguson, Loughshinney. The installation has been delayed by the necessity to complete certain legal formalities, but these have now been completed, and the work will be carried out in the next few weeks.
