Written Answers. - Turf Supplies in County Kildare.

Mr. Harris asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the turf banks attached to the holdings of several persons in the townland of Newtown-Donore are cut away, with the result that the owners are compelled to rent other banks at high rates; if so, whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire for allotment amongst persons requiring turf banks, the large tract of undeveloped bog in the Newtown-Donore and adjoining townlands.

Mr. Boland: The Land Commission are making inquiries regarding lands in Newtown-Donore district, including turbary, and the needs of the tenants in that townland will be considered in the event of suitable turbary being acquired.
