Mr. Hurley asked the Minister for Justice whether it is his intention to introduce proposals for legislation to abolish the death penalty.

Mr. Ruttledge: It is not my intention to introduce proposals for legislation of the nature suggested in the question.

Mr. Hurley: Could the Minister tell us if the Government are prepared to give facilities to a private Deputy who introduces a Bill on these lines?

Mr. Ruttledge: That does not arise on this question.

Mr. Hurley: That question was furnished to the Minister.
