Dáil Éireann - Volume 40 - 10 December, 1931

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Extension of Electricity Service.

Mr. Briscoe asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if a request [2742] has been made to him by the Electricity Supply Board for funds to enable them to extend service from Howth Road to the demesne—Killester; and if he is aware that 30 houses are wired ready for current since last summer, when the gas supply was cut off, and the occupants of these houses have since had no light on their premises.

Mr. Blythe (for Minister for Industry and Commerce): The Board has already been authorised to incur expenditure on this supply.

Mr. Briscoe: Can the Minister state when the residents of this area can hope to have connection so that they can have light in their homes?

An Ceann Comhairle: That is a question for the Electricity Supply Board.

Mr. Briscoe: I do not know that it is a question for the Electricity Supply Board. I have framed my question in two parts.

An Ceann Comhairle: The question has been answered.

Mr. Briscoe: I take it that they will get light shortly?

Mr. Blythe: The Board has been authorised to incur the expenditure on the supply.

Mr. Briscoe: On this particular supply?

Mr. Blythe: Yes.
