Mr. MacEntee Mr. MacEntee 11 [11] Mr. MacEntee asked the Ministr for Justice to state whether, under his control or under the control of any officer or Judge of Saorstát Eireann, there are any funds belonging to Suitors of the Courts of Chancery and Exchequer, or any other Courts, unclaimed since 1914; if so to state (a) the amount of such funds at 31st March in each of the Years 1931,1923, 1914, and 1908, respectively; (b) the officer under whose control such funds were at 31st March, 1923 and 1931, respectively; (c) whether such funds are held in cash or in securities; (d) the amounts held in cash and in securities, respectively, and the nature of such securities and the amount held in each. Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney 12 Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney: There are [12] unclaimed funds under the control of the High Court of Justice. Under the authority of Order 62, Rule 78 of the Rules of Court (1905) the Accountant of the Courts of Justice from time to time carries over to a general ledger account for dormant balances the balances of fund to the credit of any ledger accounts which have not been dealt with for fifteen years or upwards. (a) (c) and (d): As regards these questions, as there are a large number of figures, I propose with the Deputy's permission to have printed in the official Report a statement giving the particulars asked for.
