Mr. Walsh asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state if any further steps are being taken by the Land Commission to take over the lands known as the Ardkill Farm, McCormack Estate, Kilcommon district, County Mayo; whether he will also state what steps are being taken to relieve the acute congestion that exists in this area.

Mr. Roddy: As the Deputy has already been informed, proceedings are in progress for the acquisition of the lands of Ardkill referred to, for the relief of local congestion, and the Land Commission are still negotiating with the owner on the question of price. It is hoped that a satisfactory arrangement may be reached at an early date.
