Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Donegal Marine Works.

Micheál Og Mac Pháidín asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he had received representations urging the necessity for improving a number of existing boat slips damaged by storms, and the erection of landing stages for fishermen along [1900] the South-west coast of Donegal, from Aranmore to Ballyshannon; whether he had received reports from the Department inspectors on these works, and could he state where and when the proposed improvements would be carried out.

Minister for Lands and Fisheries (Mr. Lynch): I have received representations regarding the need for providing small landing places and improving existing slips in the district referred to, and I have obtained reports on the work required to be done. The whole question of landing facilities on the coast of the Gaeltacht is at present under examination by a subcommittee of the Coiste na Gaeltachta, and I must await the sub-committee's report before I can make any statement as to the carrying out of the works asked for.
