Mr. Aiken (for Mr. Briscoe) Mr. Aiken (for Mr. Briscoe) Mr. Aiken (for Mr. Briscoe) asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that a party of the Detective Division of the Gárda Síochána, on the 24th June, acting under a warrant to search the premises where “An Phoblacht” was being printed, examined the copy for the current issue, and informed the acting Editor that it was passed for publication; and if he will state the Act under which this censorship was exercised. Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney: The premises where “An Phoblacht” is printed were searched on the 24th June, 1931, on the authority of a warrant issued under Section 10 of the Treasonable Offences Act, 1925.
