Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kildare Military Service Pensions.

Domhnall Ua Buachalla asked the Minister for Defence whether Thomas Lalor, Halverstown, Naas, and Frank Conlan, Newbridge, are in receipt of military service pensions; and, if so, at what date were they granted, and on what pre-Truce service in each case?

Mr. Bourke (for Minister for Defence): The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The pensions were granted with effect from the 1st October, 1924. Service for pension purposes, as defined by Section 4 (2) of the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924, includes 1 year's pre-Truce service in the case of Thomas Lalor, and 1⅓ years in the case of Frank Conlan.
