Mr. Davin Mr. Davin Mr. Davin asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether any offer has so far been made by the Commissioners for the untenanted and leased lands of Lord Castletown, Granstown, Ballacolla, County Leix; and, if so, whether same has been accepted, or what action the Commissioners have taken, or propose taking, to acquire these lands for the relief of congestion. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: The Land Commission have directed an inspector to report on the lands on the estate of Lord Castletown, and on receipt of his report they will consider the question of their acquisition. Mr. Davin Mr. Davin Mr. Davin: Will the Parliamentary Secretary state how many reports have been already asked for in this case and how many have been received, and am I to understand that no attention or consideration of any kind has been given to the reports already received in regard to this case? Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: No previous report has been received. The surveyors are engaged making a survey of the entire estate. Mr. Davin Mr. Davin Mr. Davin: Is it a fact that a representative deputation, accompanied by all the Deputies for the constituency, waited upon the Land Commissioners two or three years ago, and am I to understand that no consideration has been given to the views then put before the Land Commissioners? Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy 2228 Mr. Roddy: That deputation was [2228] not, I think, in respect of these lands. There was a deputation received some years ago respecting some tenanted land on the estate.
