Mr. N. Blaney asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state the description, area, and location of the different untenanted lands and retained holdings in County Donegal in respect of which proceedings are being taken, with a view to their acquisition by the Land Commission for distribution among uneconomic holders.

Mr. Roddy: I cannot accede to the Deputy's request. Not only would considerable time and trouble be required on the part of the Land Commission staff in order to ascertain particulars of each pending estate and retained holding in County Donegal, involving the interruption of their ordinary duties, but it would be obviously unfair to owners of land to publish beforehand the fact that the Land Commission are negotiating for its purchase.
