Tadhg O Murchadha asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state whether any progress has been made in the negotiations between certain companies and his Department in connection with the proposed reopening and development of the Barytes Mines in West Cork.

Mr. McGilligan: I am afraid this question has been addressed to me under a misapprehension of the facts. No negotiations are in progress with my Department in regard to the reopening of these mines, nor has my Department been approached at all in the matter recently.
