Proinnsias O Fathaigh asked the Minister for Justice if he will state when the shot-guns taken up on the 15th January, 1930, by the Athenry Gárda Síochána Superintendent will be returned to Michael O Curchain, Raford, Kiltulla; Thomas Walsh, Larah, Kiltulla; William Kelly, Kiltulla; James Kavanagh, Kiltulla; Dan Kearns, Old Castle, Kiltulla, Thomas Connolly, Esker, Athenry; Peter Mannion, Ganty, Craughwell; and for what reasons those guns were taken up.

Minister for Justice (Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney): It is not proposed to restore their guns to the persons named.

Mr. Fahy: Perhaps in view of the fact that shotguns are and will be very necessary to farmers to protect their crops the Minister will have the matter reconsidered?

Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney: It is not considered advisable, having regard to the peace of the district.
