Mr. Maguire Mr. Maguire 2173 Mr. Maguire asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what lands have been inspected by [2173] Land Commission Inspectors in Drumsna area, Co. Leitrim, with a view to the relief of congestion in that area and with what results. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: The Land Commission have acquired and divided under the Land Act, 1923, in the Drumsna area 100a. 1r. 19p. of which Mr. Alexander Harris was the owner, and 76a. 0r. 29p. of which Mr. Edward Dobson was the owner. The lands of Annaghduff, Glebe, held by Mr. Arthur Notley and the lands of Drumsna held by Mrs. Margaret P. McKeon have also been inspected. The question of the acquisition of the lands of Annaghduff, Glebe, is under consideration and as regards the lands of Drumsna it is not proposed to take any further action at present for their acquisition. Mr. Maguire Mr. Maguire Mr. Maguire: Will the Parliamentary Secretary say, with regard to the Notley lands in the Drumsna area, what are his intentions? Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: The intention at the moment is to acquire these lands. Mr. Maguire Mr. Maguire Mr. Maguire: Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that the lands have since been purchased? Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: That does not make any difference. Mr. Maguire Mr. Maguire Mr. Maguire: If the Parliamentary Secretary considers that the lands there are necessary for relief of congestion will he be prepared to proceed with negotiations?
