Mr. G. Boland (for Tomás O Raghallaigh) asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will state the cause of the delay in introducing a Bill dealing with the minerals in Saorstát Eireann; and whether he is prepared to introduce such a measure before the Summer Recess.

Mr. McGilligan: A Bill relating to the development of minerals is necessarily a complicated measure, having regard to the various interests that would be affected by it. The draft of a Bill is now, however, practically completed and I expect to introduce it shortly after Easter.
