Tomás O Maoláin asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is now in a position to state when [2007] proposals for legislation will be introduced to implement the recommendations of the Ports and Harbours Tribunal.

Mr. McGilligan: The Report of the Ports and Harbours Tribunal, which is a most comprehensive one, has been under close examination in my Department for some time. An endeavour is being made to segregate as many as possible of the non-controversial recommendations in the belief that legislation on them may be possible at an early date.
