Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken asked the Minister for Finance whether he will restore to Eoghan Mac Suibhne, General Register Office, his previous service in the Post Office, and his period of enforced absence from July, 1922, to February, 1928, towards salary, pension, promotion and seniority in his present appointment. Minister for Finance (Mr. Blythe) Ernest Blythe Minister for Finance (Mr. Blythe): Mr. Eoghan Mac Suibhne's established service in the Post Office will, as he was informed before re-employment, count for pension. There is no adequate reason for varying the terms and conditions of appointment in his present grade which were communicated to Mr. Mac Suibhne in a letter dated 12th January, 1928, and which were accepted by him in writing before being re-employed. Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken: Is it not a fact that Mr. Mac Suibhne has been recommended for promotion, and is the blocking of the promotion not simply further political victimisation? Mr. Blythe Mr. Blythe Mr. Blythe: He certainly has not been victimised. He has been treated very well. Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken: Is it not a fact that he has been recommended for promotion?
