Dáil Éireann - Volume 36 - 26 November, 1930

Question on Adjournment.

Mr. Killilea: In view of the unsatisfactory answer given by the Minister for Local Government to Question 16 to-day and owing to the urgency of the matter I wish to give notice that I shall raise the matter on the adjournment.

General Mulcahy: Before the Deputy wastes the time of the House by raising the matter on the adjournment I should like to know does he understand that he wishes to raise a question as to the neglect of the Local Government Department in respect of a matter over which the Galway Co. Council has complete power?

Mr. Killilea: Yes. But two years ago a relief grant was passed by this House and this was one of the matters about which I made representations. Nothing was done then and nothing has been done since then and I think it is up to the Minister to see that this case is looked into as it is one of the worst in Ireland.

An Ceann Comhairle: We shall take the notice provisionally and see what can be done before the adjournment. If it is a matter for the Minister we shall take the notice.
