Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware of the grave dissatisfaction that exists amongst the local congests and residents generally owing to the delay of four and a half years on the part of the Land Commission in acquiring the lands of Parsonstown, Carbury, Co. Kildare, held by the late B. J. Eivers, containing 377 acres, 3 roods, 10 perches, and whether he will instruct the Land Commission to take immediate action for the acquisition of these lands, so much needed for the relief of congestion. Hogan Minister for Agriculture (on behalf of Minister for Lands and Fisheries): The Land Commission instituted proceedings under the Land Act, 1923, for the acquisition of the lands of Parsonstown, the property of the late B. J. Eivers. A provisional list of the lands has been published, but an objection has been lodged by the owner to their acquisition. This objection has been heard by the Land Commission, whose decision has been withheld pending further inquiry in the matter. Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state what progress has been made by the Land Commission in acquiring for the relief of congestion the lands known as the Murphy Minors Estate, Rathangan, Co. Kildare, containing about 700 acres, and whether he will expedite the acquisition and division of these lands amongst the numerous congests (about 80 in number) in the district, whose names have been furnished to the Department.
