Briscoe asked the Minister for Defence if he will state what representations were made by his Department protesting against the carrying of the Shannon scheme overhead cable across Tallaght Aerodrome, thereby rendering Tallaght useless, from the air point of view, for civil or military aviation. Mr. Fitzgerald Mr. Fitzgerald Mr. Fitzgerald: No representations were made against the erection of the overhead cables in question by my Department. Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe: Was the matter of the position of these overhead cables brought to the attention of the Minister at the time? Mr. Fitzgerald Mr. Fitzgerald Mr. Fitzgerald: We do not regard Tallaght as associated with military requirements. It was surplus to military requirements, and this does not affect us. Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe: If the aerodrome is not used for military purposes, is it not possible that it will be used for civil aviation?
