Peadar S. O Dubhghaill asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if it is the intention of the Electricity Supply Board to acquire for the purpose of the Shannon Scheme the premises of the City Wheel Works, Dublin; and, if so, if he will state what steps are being taken by his Department to ensure that no person at present employed in these works will lose his employment.

Minister for Industry and Commerce (Mr. McGilligan): Reliable information on the matter referred to in the question can be secured only by direct application to the Electricity Supply Board. Such information as I have does not lead me to the conclusion that it is the intention of the Electricity Supply Board to acquire the City Wheel Works premises. The second part of the question does not therefore arise.
