Tomás O Deirg asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state the total area of untenanted land acquired by the Land Commission during the year ending 31st March, 1930, and the price paid for same.

Mr. Roddy: During the year ended the 31st March, 1930, the Land Commission acquired 37,053 acres of untenanted land for a total price of £313,214 under Sections 24, 35 and 36 of the Land Act, 1923, and 18,874 acres of “Committee” lands for a price of £306,229 under Section 42 of the Land Act, 1927.
