Mr. Cooney asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he can state the amount of joinery imported into Saorstát Eireann for building trade purposes during the years 1928 and 1929 respectively.

Mr. McGilligan: Joinery is not an item in the classification used for the purpose of the trade statistics, but I can give the particulars under the description “Builders' Woodwork,” which includes window frames, doors, etc., and will, presumably, serve the required purpose.

[13] The imports in 1928 were of the value of £45,250, and in 1929 of £59,496.
