Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting of Achill Mission Estate.

Mr. Kilroy asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state when the Keel tenants on the Achill Mission Estate will become vested; and if he can state for what reason the vesting of this estate has been delayed during the past fifteen years.

Mr. Roddy: There has been for a considerable period of time a disagreement among the tenants on this estate concerning rights of commonage. Since last October a surveyor has been more or less continuously engaged on endeavouring to effect a settlement, and to allow the final survey to be made. There are approximately 700 tenants concerned, and the commonages are exceptionally large in area.
