Dáil Éireann - Volume 33 - 19 March, 1930 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly Board of Health Houses. Mr. Davin Mr. Davin 2039 Mr. Davin asked the Minister for [2039] Local Government and Public Health if he can state the number of houses owned by the Offaly County Board of Health and the amount of rent due to the Board on March 1st, 1930. General Mulcahy General Mulcahy General Mulcahy: The number of labourers' cottages owned by the Offaly Board of Health and Public Assistance is 1001. The amount of rent due on the 1st February, 1930, the most recent date of which particulars are available, was £453 4s. 11d. It may be remarked that that is five times the amount of arrears that existed up to three years ago and, in the case of Leix, three times the amount at the same period. Mr. Davin Mr. Davin Mr. Davin: Is the Minister aware that in Leix the amount due was £93 in September and that the amount due at the end of each quarter is much lower than in the middle of the quarter? General Mulcahy General Mulcahy General Mulcahy: The figure for February date is the last I have. If the Deputy puts down a question in a short time concerning the figure for March, I will be glad to record any reduction there may be. Mr. Davin Mr. Davin Mr. Davin: Does the Minister think that a sum of £93 outstanding for a total amount of 1,396 cottages is excessive at the end of a quarter? General Mulcahy General Mulcahy General Mulcahy: I did not say £93. Mr. Davin Mr. Davin Mr. Davin: That is the figure in September last. General Mulcahy General Mulcahy General Mulcahy: I have been asked for the figure in March and I will be glad to record it when I get it. Mr. Davin Mr. Davin Mr. Davin: The end of March. General Mulcahy General Mulcahy General Mulcahy: Yes. Dáil Éireann 33 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. Offaly Board of Health Houses. Questions 19300319
