Dáil Éireann - Volume 33 - 12 March, 1930 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pharmaceutical Chemists. Mr. Cole Mr. Cole Mr. Cole asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state when he hopes to introduce the proposals for legislation dealing with pharmaceutical chemists in the Saorstát. General Mulcahy General Mulcahy General Mulcahy: The preparation of proposals for legislation on this matter is in hands. It is not possible at present to state when it can be introduced. Mr. Cole Mr. Cole Mr. Cole: Is the Minister aware that a promise was given as far back as March, 1929, that the first step in the direction of what would be an agreed Bill would be taken? Would it not be possible now to have the Bill introduced and sent to a Select Committee? General Mulcahy General Mulcahy General Mulcahy: I am aware of the desirability of having this legislation introduced at the earliest possible moment. I have been in rather constant touch with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland in connection with the matter, and I can assure Deputies that the matter is very intricate and the legislation in connection with it will be of a difficult nature. So far as it has been possible to progress with the matter, that progress has been made. There will be no avoidable delay in further dealing with the question. Dáil Éireann 33 Ceisteanna—Questions.
