Mícheál O Cléirigh Mícheál O Cléirigh 1614 Mícheál O Cléirigh asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if [1614] he is aware of the acute congestion existing in the Colonel Jordon estate, Tooromeen, Bohola, County Mayo, and also in other townlands and estates throughout the parish of Bohola, and if any action is being taken, or likely to be taken, in the near future by the Land Commission to remedy the existing state of affairs. Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Lands and Fisheries (Mr. Roddy) Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Lands and Fisheries (Mr. Roddy) Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Lands and Fisheries (Mr. Roddy): The Land Commission are aware of the congestion existing on the Jordon estate at Bohola, Co. Mayo, and the matter will be investigated when they are dealing with the estate. The question of congestion in the parish of Bohola will receive careful consideration when estates in the locality are being dealt with. Mr. Clery Mr. Clery Mr. Clery: Arising out of the answer, I do not know whether the Land Commission are aware that the worst system of rundale exists in this parish. It has been brought to the notice of the Land Commission time and again in recent years and there were some disturbances there over this land trouble. Could the Parliamentary Secretary state if anything can be done in the near future or if anything is contemplated? Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: If the Deputy will give me the names of the estates he is interested in I shall give him any information in my possession. He should remember that in that parish there are forty townlands and, consequently, it is difficult for the Land Commission to identify the names of particular estates. Mr. Clery Mr. Clery Mr. Clery: Shall we take the Jordon estate? Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: The question relates to the Jordon estate and I have answered it.
