Mr. Carty Mr. Carty Mr. Carty asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he can state when the Land Commission propose sub-dividing the Curroughboy Bog, in the parish of Kilmactigue, County Sligo. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: The bog referred to forms portion of the estate of J.C. McAndrew and others, for the sale of which under the Land Act of 1923 schedules and particulars have been lodged. The Land Commission are now dealing with this estate and when it has been inspected the question of the disposal of the bog will be considered. Mr. Carty Mr. Carty Mr. Carty asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he can state if the Land Commission have acquired, or intend to acquire, the lands on the Gordon estate, in the townlands of Lackanatlieve, Carrownedin and Ballinteane, in the parish of Kilglass, County Sligo, for the purpose of sub-division among the congested tenants in the vicinity. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: Proceedings have been instituted under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, for the acquisition of the lands of Carrowneden and Lackanatlieve on the Gordon estate. These lands were published in a provisional list of lands which, if not excluded in consequence of a valid objection, will become vested in the Land Commission on the appointed day. There are no proceedings before the Land Commission for the acquisition of the lands of Ballinteane which are subject to land purchase annuity. Mr. Carty Mr. Carty 1264 Mr. Carty asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what steps the Land Commission are [1264] taking to vest the lands of Cloongoonagh (Palmer estate), in the parish of Kilmactigue, County Sligo, held in common by a large number of tenants, and when the Land Commission will be in a position to divide said lands into separate holdings for the purpose of vesting. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: The Land Commission are not in a position to complete the striping and rearrangement of the townland of Cloongoonagh on the Sir Roger Palmer estate pending the removal of this year's crops. The work will be proceeded with when the ground is clear. Mr. Carty Mr. Carty Mr. Carty: Can the Parliamentary Secretary state if the vesting of this townland will be proceeded with before the end of the year? Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: Oh, no. It is not possible that the vesting can be done this year. Mr. Carty Mr. Carty Mr. Carty: Or early in the new year? Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: I cannot give any undertaking on that point.
