Tomás O Conaill asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he has received an application from Mr. J. Maher, of Brackloon, Westport, a tenant on the late estate of Robert Cottingham, Co. Mayo, Record No. S.4672, for building assistance by way of a free grant and what action has been taken as a result of the receipt of that application.

Mr. Roddy: The Land Commission have received an application from Joseph Maher, a tenant on the estate of R. Cottingham, Co. Mayo, for a free grant for building purposes. He has already obtained a grant from the Department of Local Government under the Housing Acts and the Land Commission are not prepared to make him a further grant.
