Written Answers. - Mayo Old Age Pension Claim.

Mr. Henry asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that Anne Mulligan, of Sweetwell, was awarded an old age pension of 7/- per week by the Swinford Sub-Committee on the 12th September, 1929, and if he is aware that the award has been appealed against and if he will confirm the finding of the sub-committee.

General Mulcahy: An appeal is at present under consideration in this case against the proposal of the Foxford Pension Sub-Committee to allow a pension of seven shillings a week. The evidence of age so far furnished cannot be regarded as sufficient to warrant the allowance of a pension. I will, however, be prepared to consider any further evidence of age which it may be desired to submit.
