O'Reilly asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what steps he has taken to acquire the estate of William P. Garnett, townland of Jealoustown or Greenpark, near Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, for distribution amongst uneconomic holders of that area. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: The Land Commission have issued an offer for the purchase of 362a. 1r. 0p. of the lands of Jealoustown, which has not been accepted by the owner, and they do not propose to take any further action in the matter at present. Mr. O'Reilly Mr. O'Reilly Mr. O'Reilly: Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that the owner is resident in the United States for some time past? Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: Yes, I am aware of that, but certain difficulties have arisen, legal and otherwise, which must be disposed of before the Land Commission can take any further proceedings for the acquisition of these lands.
