Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - The Forestry Act.

Séamus O Riain asked the Minister for Agriculture whether any part, and if so what part, of the Forestry Act, 1928, has yet been put into force.

Mr. Hogan: For the reason given in my reply to a question by Deputy Corish on 24th ultimo, it has not hitherto been feasible to make an order bringing the Forestry Act into operation. I hope, however, to be in a position to do so in the immediate future.

Mr. Corish: Has the Minister yet arrived at any agreement with the Minister for Finance in this matter?

Mr. Hogan: Yes; the staff, for the purpose of bringing the Forestry Act into operation, has been agreed upon now between the Minister for Finance and myself.

Mr. Corish: Does that mean that something will be done for forestry during this winter?

Mr. Hogan: It does.
