Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Entertainment Tax Collected in Dublin.

Mr. MacEntee asked the Minister for Finance if he is in a position to make any estimate as to what percentage of the total amount yielded by the Entertainment Tax in the years 1925/26, 1926/27 and 1927/28, respectively, was collected in respect of entertainments in the City and County Borough of Dublin and in the Dublin Police District, respectively.

Minister for Local Government and Public Health (General Mulcahy) for Minister for Finance: The revenue accounts are not furnished in such a way as to give the information required. The particulars could only be obtained by the compilation of special returns, which would involve the expenditure of a considerable amount of time, and the consequent expense would not be justifiable.
