Mr. de Valera: I do not know if I would be in order in drawing the attention of the Minister for Justice to a report which I got within the last half hour regarding a matter [941] that occurred in my constituency in Clare. It is with reference to the beating of a man by the C.I.D.

Mr. de Valera: My only reason for mentioning it is that the House is not likely to meet again for a considerable time. Otherwise I would postpone it until I have the facts verified.
