Written Answers. - Proposed New Sorting Office.

Mr. Cassidy asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether, in view of the inadequate accommodation in the present Sorting Office in Pearse Street, he will state when it is proposed to proceed with the building of a new Sorting Office.

Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Heffernan): The existing accommodation at Pearse Street is not inadequate for the work at present performed there, but it is the intention to erect new buildings on this site capable of providing for all the mail work in the Dublin central area—letter, parcel and delivery. The preparation of the plans of the new buildings is under consideration.
