Mr. Cassidy Mr. Cassidy Mr. Cassidy asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state what progress has been made in connection with the acquisition under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, of the estate of Messrs. Conlon and McDowell (Record No. 3824), situated at Finner, Co. Donegal; and when it is expected that the lands will be divided amongst the uneconomic holders in the district. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: An offer was made by the Land Commission for the purchase of the lands of Finner, comprising an area of 67a. Or. 32p., but was refused by the owners, who are unwilling to part with the lands which are subject to Land Purchase annuity. Mr. Cassidy Mr. Cassidy 828 [828] Mr. Cassidy: Might I ask the Parliamentary Secretary whether his Department is prepared to pursue the negotiations further in the matter of acquiring the land? Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: The matter is still under consideration, and I do not know whether the negotiations in this case will lead to anything.
