Dáil Éireann - Volume 31 - 11 July, 1929 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Landing Facilities in Innisherrer Island. Mr. Cassidy Mr. Cassidy Mr. Cassidy asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware that great inconvenience and danger is experienced by the fishermen of Innisherrer Island, County Donegal, owing to the lack of proper landing facilities on the island, and whether he will arrange for a landing slip or pier to be erected. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy 819 Mr. Roddy: The expense of clearing a site and providing a landing slip and pier on this island would be prohibitive, having regard to the [819] small population of eight families resident on the island during the winter. The question of affording the islanders any necessary skilled supervision and assistance in the clearing of the foreshore to facilitate the landing of boats will be considered.
