Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state when the lands (containing 181a. 1r. 10p.) of Castlesize, Sallins, Co. Kildare, will be divided amongst the congests (49 in number) whose names have been furnished to the Department; further, whether all the lands will be divided amongst these congests; and, if not, what number will receive allotments, and what will be the total acreage which will be divided amongst them. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: A scheme for the division of the lands of Castlesize has not yet been completed. Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan: Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that an advertisement appeared in the daily papers inviting tenders for the building of a house on this farm? I would like to know for whom this house is intended. Is it intended for a migrant? Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: The house is intended for a migrant. Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan: Then, of course, most of the land will go to the migrant, and the local people will not get the benefit. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: Portion of it will go to the migrant, and the balance will go to the small holders in the area. Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan 626 [626] Mr. Colohan asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he can state what progress has been made by the Land Commission in acquiring the lands, containing 358 acres, on the estate of Mr. William Ashe, in the townland of Blackhall, Co. Kildare, and when those lands will be available for allotment amongst the twenty-two congest applicants whose names have been furnished to the Department. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: There is nothing further to add to the reply given to this Deputy's question of the 13th March last. Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he can state when the untenanted lands of Parsonstown, Carbury, Co. Kildare, held by the late Mr. B.I. Eivers, containing 470a. 2r. 3p., will be available for division amongst the congest applicants in the district, and whether he can expedite the acquisition of these lands. Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy Mr. Roddy: Proceedings have been instituted under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, for the acquisition of the lands of Parsonstown, containing about 378 acres, on the estate of the late Bernard Eivers, Co. Kildare. These lands were published on the 19th March, 1929, in a provisional list of lands to be vested in the Land Commission on the appointed day. The owners have lodged an objection to the acquisition of these lands, and it is at present pending for hearing in the Court of the Land Commission. Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan Mr. Colohan asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether the Land Commission have decided to acquire for the relief of congestion the lands containing about 1,024 acres on La Touche estate, near Kilcullen, Co. Kildare; and, if so, when the lands will be available for allotment amongst the congest applicants (48 in number), whose names have been furnished to the Department.
