Mr. Davin asked the Minister for [616] Local Government and Public Health whether he has established any Consultative Councils under Section 19 of the Local Government Act, 1925. or whether he proposes to exercise the powers conferred by that section of the Act referred to.

General Mulcahy: No special matter has arisen on which it was considered that the exercise of the powers referred to would be of assistance.

Mr. Davin: Does the Minister not consider it advisable to have a Special Committee, as was intended, a small Advisory Council, for public health purposes? Are we to understand that his Department are of opinion that they could not get good advice from any such Committee on that matter?
