Mrs. Collins O'Driscoll asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether his attention has been drawn to a statement that temporary nurses recently appointed to the County Hospital, Monaghan, have relinquished their duties, and if such be the fact, whether he has taken steps to secure that patients of the hospital will not suffer from inattention.

General Mulcahy: I have been much concerned for some time past as to the disorganised nursing conditions which have obtained in this hospital, and have taken all possible steps to secure that permanent arrangements of a satisfactory kind will be made. An inspector has been directed to proceed to Monaghan to advise as to any emergency measures now necessary.
