Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (a) the cost and extent of subsidence of the embankment in connection with the Shannon Works; and (b) if the cost and repairing of such damage is to be borne by the State. Mr. McGilligan Mr. McGilligan Mr. McGilligan: The estimated cost of the additional work necessitated by the subsidence of part of an embankment at Parteen Villa will not exceed £6,000. The subsidence is about 150 metres in length. Should any question arise as to the liability for the cost of this additional work, it will be determined in accordance with the relevant provisions of the contract. I do not, therefore, consider it desirable that I should express an opinion here on the matter. Dáil Éireann 30 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. Shannon Works (Embankment Subsidence).
