Crowley asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state the reasons why Maurice McNamara, Main Street, Doon, Co. Limerick, has not been paid £20 invested by him in Dáil Eireann Loan (1919-1920), considering he has complied with the requests to transmit to the Department deeds of transfer duly signed by the two persons on whose behalf he at that time subscribed. Mr. Blythe Mr. Blythe 1145 Mr. Blythe: The delay in authorising repayment of the amount referred to in the Deputy's question is mainly due to the fact that the official receipts held by the transferers were not furnished to my Department until a comparatively recent date. Authority to issue Savings Certificates to Mr. Maurice McNamara which will enable him to obtain repayment will be given to [1145] the Accountant, Department of Posts and Telegraphs, before the end of this month. Boland asked the Minister for Finance whether he can state when payment in respect of Dáil Eireann Loan (1920) will be made to John Caffery, Lissanisky, Clara, Offaly, amount £3; James Dillon, Kilbride, Clara, Offaly, £5; John Shea, Clonmacnoise House, Athlone, £1, and Thomas Norton, Clonark, Thomastown, Athlone. The claim of any subscriber who applied in writing before the expiration of the prescribed time for repayment of his subscription will be dealt with in my Department in due course.
