Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Solicitors' Preliminary Examinations.

Proinnsias O Fathaigh asked the Minister for Justice whether he will consider the advisability of introducing proposals for legislation to amend the Solicitors (Ireland) Act, 1898, with a view to putting the Intermediate Certificate on an equality with the local examination, Oxford (Junior or Senior) in the matter of exemption from the preliminary examinations for solicitors.

Mr. Blythe (for Minister for Justice): I am in communication with the Incorporated Law Society on the subject matter of the Deputy's question and I shall communicate with the Deputy when I have had the advantage of the Incorporated Law Society's observations.
