Mr. P.S. Doyle (for Mr. Crowley) asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he intends to revoke the lease granted in 1917 to Capt. Fitzgerald, of the Glanleam Strand, Valentia Island, so that the farmers in the neighbourhood may be allowed to draw sand for the improvement of their holdings, as they were always accustomed to do.

Mr. McGilligan: Inquiries are proceeding to ascertain whether the conditions that would result if sand were drawn in quantity from this strand justify the serving of notice to revoke the existing lease.
