Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Alleged Removal of Posters.

Mr. Lemass asked the Minister for [4] Justice if members of the Gárda Síochána tore down and removed posters displayed in the village of Ballycroy, Co. Mayo, during the past three weeks, announcing a collection on behalf of the Fianna Fáil organisation; if such action was taken under orders, and, if so, why such orders were issued.

The Minister for Justice (Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney): The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. The rest of the question does not therefore arise.

Mr. Lemass: Will the Minister state if he will cause an inquiry to be held into the truth or otherwise of the allegation if a signed statement is submitted to him by the secretary of the local Fianna Fáil Cumann?

Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney: The answer is in the negative.
