Mr. Allen (for Dr. O'Dowd) asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the lands of Carrowbeg and Lurghaboy (Kingston Estate), Keadue, Co. Roscommon, and, if so, when these lands will be subdivided.

Mr. Roddy: The question of acquiring the lands of Carrowbeg and Lurghaboy, which form portion of the estate of the Earl of Kingston, is under consideration. In the present stage of the proceedings it is not possible to indicate whether, and if so, when, the lands would be available for distribution.

Mr. Allen: Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that part of these lands has already been acquired by adjacent landowners?

Mr. Roddy: No.

Mr. Allen: Will he see that the matter is expedited?

Mr. Roddy: I am not aware that any of the lands have been acquired by private owners.
